The Spiderwick Chronicles by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black. Simon & Schuster. A chronicle of the adventures of the Grace children, twins Simon and Jared and their older sister Mallory, after they move into Spiderwick Estate and discover a world of faeries that they never knew existed.

This series is comprised of five titles. The books are hardcover with pictorial bindings with raised lettering on the front cover. Each book measures 7 in. x 4 6/8 in., has a color frontispiece printed on coated paper, table of contents, list of full page illustrations, map of the Spiderwick estate and surrounding areas. There are plenty of full page and smaller b/w illustrations throughout the series with a couple of color illustrations to be found.

The Field Guide - Published in 2003, book one. 107 pages.

When the Grace children go to stay at their Great Aunt Lucinda's worn Victorian house, they discover a field guide to fairies and other creatures and begin to have some unusual experiences.

The Seeing Stone - Published in 2003, book two. 108 pages.

When Mallory and Jared attempt to rescue Simon from goblins, they use a magical stone that enables them to see things that are normally invisible.

Lucinda's Secret - Published in 2003, book three. 108 pages.

With goblins, trolls, and the house boggart all trying to get them, the Grace children turn to Great Aunt Lucinda for help.

The Ironwood Tree - Published in 2004, book four. 111 pages

A vile pack of goblins kidnap Simon, then Mallory disappears, and someone is pretending to be Jared. Why is the fairy world so eager to get their hands on Spiderwick 's Guide?

The Wrath of Mulgarath - Published in 2004, book five. 139 pages

Three ordinary kids, Jared, Simon, and Wallory Grace, have entered another world -- without leaving this one!


Not ex-library books. No inscriptions. No interior markings noted. The bindings are tight and appear to be unread. Great condition. A really lovely set and a story line that is sure to keep a young reader glued to the books.
