At the whine of a rifle slug Slade twisted in the saddle and gazed back. About a thousand yards back a number of riders were urging their horses up the trail at top speed.

Slade surveyed them coolly. "looks like some. body wants to play tag. Well, if they're hankering for a game, they can get it. Trail, Shadow!"

The great black shot forward, his irons drumming the rocky ground. Bullets continued to sing past. Shadow flashed around a bulge of cliff and suddenly the exhilarating race became something deadly serious. Sitting their horses not far ahead was a second group. Rifles cracked and bullets fanned past as Slade came into view.

Ranger Walt Slade was neatly trapped. From north and south outlaws thundered in for the kill. There was just one thing to do, one slender chance, a frightful gamble with death....

Condition:

A vintage used book with minor handling wear. The cover has some rubbing but the colors are still good. Not an ex library, no inscriptions. Slight spine tip, slight fray at the foot of the spine and a couple of shallow corner creases. The cover and pages are intact. No markings noted.
