By Reginald Taylor, illustrated by Tony Weare. Criterion Books, New York, copyright 1958. Hardcover, pictorial tan cloth binding with black lettering on spine. Measures 8 1/2" x 5 3/4" with 251 pages.

Contains frontispiece, several b/w double-page wood-cut style illustrations and bibliography.

Symbolizes the whole spirit of the early circus. Although fictional, is based on solid fact. Time period is 1835 - 1838. Setting is England in the time of Queen Victoria.

An ex-library with the usual markings. Corners bumped. Handling use wear. After thumbing through several times, no writing/markings were noted. The cover and pages are intact and in good condition.
