A vintage 1960's - 1970's, 3 piece chip and dip set comes in it's original box. Large bowl measure 8 inches from rim to rim x 2 7/8 inches deep. Small bowl measures 4 1/2 inch from rim to rim x 1 3/4 inch tall. The small bowls rests atop the large bowl with a metal bracket. Comes in its original box. Sticker still on the underside of the large bowl.

No cracks, chips or hairlines. The box is age toned with some wear. In good condition.

The box measures 7 3/8 inches x 3 6/8 inches with the Good Housekeeping seal. Some of the cards have the marking "A Sunshine Card" on the back. Some cards have "from the GJC Exclusive Collection" and some have just numbers. There are 21 cards, some duplicates. Butterflies, roses, floral, pansies, fans, fairies, girl wearing bonnet. All made in the USA. There are no dates. The box, cards and envelopes are age toned. One card has a 1/4 inch tear on the spine. None are written on. A nice lot of cards for collecting, decorating or crafting.

No date or code to indicate date, estimated early 1930's. Stamped on the underside, CARR CHINA THE BALLARET. No chips, cracks or repairs. Has two tiny dimples from manufacturing process and a hint of use wear. Great for service or for flowers.

A vintage set of four Pyrex Colonial Mist nested mixing bowls, in blue with white daisies and one white bowl with blue daisies. This pattern was introduced in late 1983.

The sizes are

404 - 4 L = 1.05 gallons
403 - 2.5 L = 2.64 qts
402 - 1.5 L = 1.58 qts
401 - 750 ML = 3.17 cups

Each bowl has the Pyrex markings on the bottom. They have some use wear with some scratches on the blue. There are no cracks, chips breaks or repairs. A beautiful set in good condition.

Condition:

Shows some signs of use. No inscriptions written in the booklets. After thumbing through each booklet there are no obvious signs of any markings. There are very few stains. The covers are still bright and colorful. The covers and pages are all intact. The binders have the title list of booklets hand written on the inside. The list includes a title that doesn't belong, but all 24 titles belonging to the set are present. The binders are sound with no repairs. The box has wear and some separation of the sides from the bottom but is still intact and no repairs. A great set of cook books in really nice condition.

There is a minor, pale staining along the bottom edge of the pages. Thumbing through 700+ pages nothing else was noticed. The cover and textblock are intact and in great condition.

To Neltje Blanchan, birds were not merely natural history specimens to be measured and classified and ticketed with Latin names, although she was familiar with all the scientific facts about our feathered neighbors and her descriptions were authoritative. Her interest in birds lay in their character, their beauty, and their economic relation to the balance of nature. She knew and has described the friendships and the feuds between bird families. To Neltje Blanchan, in short, each bird, whether of thicket, field, swamp, forest, or the heights of mountain peaks, was a thing of life and individuality. In one of her notes we find this description of a crow: With a heart as black as his feathers, common as sin itself. This pungent phrase is characteristic of the author's writing.

The artist, Nellie M. Pairpoint, has somewhat the same feeling about birds that Neltje Blanchan had, and her drawings, both black and white and color, are an interpretation with pen and brush of the living, glowing creatures. These pictures are made as the birds would be in action when the sun and shadow enhance the plumage, and not as the dry-as-dust specimens exhibited in museums.

The publishers take great satisfaction in bringing together in one volume Neltje Blanchan's text and Miss Pairpoint's pictures, one being a complement of the other.

This edition is beautifully illustrated in b/w and soft, dreamy pastel colors throughout with lots of gilt embellishing. There are 12 full page color illustrations (one has some penciling on it), most having a fancy gilt border. A few examples are shown below.

The cover is a bit rough with the spine separated from the back cover. The back cover is still attached to the book.� There's soiling and rubbing to the cover with a writing mark and a few scratches on the back. The corners are bumped/frayed.
The pages have some toning and some smudges from little fingers and some having edge wear a few small edge tears, an inscription on the front pastedown, but in general the interior is still nice. The book could be kept as is or the illustrations would be wonderful mounted and framed.

To come right to the point if you have a kitchen (pullman or otherwise) in your home and are expected to cook in it, but HATE to cook this book is for you. It is such a clever book that no one need ever know how much you do hate to cook. The more than 180 recipes are quick, easy, and tested by other housewives who used to feel hostile to the kitchen. Not only are the recipes as simple as ABC, but they're imaginative as well. Easy meals don't have to be dull, and Peg Bracken proves it.

In addition to the recipes, there is lots of sound�and very amusing�advice about kitchen problems. Peg Bracken discusses leftovers ("when in doubt, throw it out"), surefire entrees like Stayabed Stew and Sweep Steak, things to do with vegetables, salads and salad dressings, last-minute meals, potluck suppers, lunches for the girls, children's parties, and dinners to impress people. The recipes are excellent and Peg Bracken is very funny.

This is a very pretty set of two vintage linen doilies. They are hand embroidered with a floral and border motif in fuchsia pink, orange, green and blue. They are edged with a pretty, deep fuchsia pink hand crocheted lace which is crocheted to the edge of the doily. They each measure13 � in. x 10 � in., not quite fully rectangular with one side being scalloped. They are clean with no holes or tears. These are lovely and would be great for your side tables or dresser...or where ever.

Colorfully appliqued blue, yellow, pink and red flowers and green leaves edge this sweet little linen doily with cutwork between each flower. Round and measuring 9 � in. across. Hand stitched and some of the stitches need repairing. Has the very slightest of discoloration which may come out with gentle cleaning. No holes or tears.

Steubenville China Covered Dish Floral Vintage Shabby Chic

Vintage Steubenville China covered dish.

A lovely pink, blue, deep orange floral motif with green leaves decorate the rim and center of the bowl. Matching floral sprays cascade down the sides of the cover. Both bowl and cover are embellished with gold bands.

The bowl measures 8" wide x 1 1/4" high. The domed cover has a knob-like handle and is about 2 1/2" at it's tallest inside point.

Tentatively ID'd as the "Floral" pattern and use may have been intended as a cheese or butter dish.

No cracks or chips. Has crazing. A great addition to your set. So lovely it would make a beautiful dresser accessory for your shabby chic decor as a trinket dish or fill with your favorite scented powder and a fluffy powder puff.

This is a vintage linen long oval table runner or dresser scarf measuring 40 in. x 11 � in. Hand embroidered with baskets of little pink flowers and a border interspersed with more little pink flowers. The color embroidery thread used are pink, green, red, black, white blue and yellow. Machine hemmed and the pink blue and white lace is machine stitched to the edge. It's clean with no holes or tears. It's in really good condition.

This is a colorful vintage linen table runner or dresser scarf hand, embroidered with a flower and butterfly motif in shades of blue, pink, brown, orange, green, pink, red and orange. There's a scalloped border at each end and with criss cross fill stitches. This is machine hemmed with a green, yellow, and white lace which is machine stitched to the runners edge. Measuring 42 in. x 14 ½ in.. This is clean with no holes or tears. One of my favorites.

The cup is trimmed with gold on the rim, foot and handle. Measures 3 1/2 in. across x 2 3/4 in. high.

The saucer is trimmed with gold about the rim and measures 5 1/2 in. across.

The gold trim is good, colors bright. No chips or cracks.

(Of course my favorite is for the golabkis to be baked together with polish kielbasa(sausage)) There are several different recipes for the pierogi dough and fillings and many other polish specialties including polish kielbasa. Shadow flashed around a bulge of cliff and suddenly the exhilarating race became something deadly serious. Sitting their horses not far ahead was a second group. Rifles cracked and bullets fanned past as Slade came into view.

Ranger Walt Slade was neatly trapped. From north and south outlaws thundered in for the kill. There was just one thing to do, one slender chance, a frightful gamble with death....

The saucer is trimmed with gold about the scalloped rim and the inner ridge. It measures 5 1/2 in. across.

No cracks or chips. There is a tiny 1/8 in. manufacturing flaw which is a rough spot on the saucer rim and has a teeny bit of glaze and gold trim miss.� The gold trim is otherwise good with no wear, colors bright.

Special Features of Your Giant Print Reference Bible

This Bible contains the text of the King James Version, originally published in 1611. One characteristic of this version is its use of italics. It is used to indicate words supplied by the editors to help clarify the meaning and better relate the original language into English.

In this edition Read-Along References� and Read-Along Translations� are used to help you understand the text. The Raised "R" beside a word denotes a Read-Along Reference� which lists at the end of the verse other passages which have similar meanings or further bearing on the word or phrase indicated. This method of Bible study ties together the great truths of Scripture. A cross-reference in square brackets (example: [Deut. 12:5]) is a conceptual cross-reference; that is, it refers to a passage similar in concept to the referenced passage in the text.
